Heidelberg to Osthofen

We started the day with a walk through the old city and past the cathedral. It was Corpus Christi public holiday. A cable car ride up to the castle afforded great views of the city and the old castle was fairly impressive too.  On the way back we could hear organ music coming from the cathedral so we checked it out. An impromptu performance was very enjoyable and the cathedral interior was quite beautiful.
Nice ride along Neckar River to Mannheim. We stopped at the Mannheim "City Beach" for morning tea.  A visit to the Jesuit cathedral was surprising as the church was far more ornate and Italianate than almost anything else we have seen in Germany. It was decorated in white green and gold. We rode past the palace before crossing the now huge Rhein river, through the city - messy ride, traffic lights. Next stop Worms and it's beautiful old cathedral and historic synagogue. We then rode past a random schloss and onto our hotel in Osthofen - Hotel Siena and a special piquant pizza, invented especially for Australian tourists.
